The Maple Street Connector - Taney County East-West Road Phase I Project Description
This project will pursue a TIGER II Discretionary Grant. The proposed Maple Street Connector project would construct a 3,400 foot long, 5-lane roadway from Maple Street to Birch Street. This roadway would include a new intersection at Maple Street, a reinforced concrete box culvert at the crossing of Kohler Creek, a new intersection at Industrial Park Drive, and a signalized intersection at Birch Street. Birch Street would also be improved as part of this project from its current 2-lane configuration to a 5-lane roadway. The Birch Street improvements would take place over the 1,500 foot section of Birch Street between the proposed Maple Street Connector and the existing Highway 65 Interchange. The project would include pedestrian and bicycle facilities as well, to make The Maple Street Connector a true multimodal link between the commercial and retail area of Hollister and the residential areas. For the design and construction of the project Taney County is requesting $6 million in grant funds.
